The Cruising Club of Charleston invites you to join us! We are
a group of boaters who enjoy the camaraderie and the challenge of cruising
our vessels. Each month there is an overnight cruise to different locations around Charleston. As a group, we offer education, support, and, sometime,
adventure to one another.
Our membership expanding! Originally, eligibility into the
Cruising Club of Charleston was reserved for sailing vessels only.
However in 2000, (as more of us grew older and moved to trawlers) we
opened the eligibility to all boat owners of “cruising type" vessels,
sail or power.
Meetings/Education
On the first Thursday evening of each month, the Cruising Club of
Charleston meets at 7:30pm for an instructional or educational program.
Boating topics range from “The Care of Diesel Engines" to “Shipwrecked
in the Caribbean”.
Since meetings are held in the private dining room of the Liberty Taproom, many members arrive at 6:30 pm to order drinks and dinner from restaurant menu.
Following the educational program is a short business meeting that always includes instructions regarding the upcoming monthly overnight cruise.
